Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC) is one of the most iconic trekking routes in Nepal, offering trekkers the chance to explore the breathtaking beauty of the Annapurna massif, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Himalchuli, and Gangapurna. This classic trek takes you deep into the heart of the Annapurna Conservation Area, a region renowned for its stunning landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and welcoming local communities.
The journey to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) is both a cultural and natural immersion, passing through lush forests, terraced fields, rivers, and picturesque Gurung and Magar villages. As you ascend, the surroundings transform from subtropical landscapes to alpine meadows, and finally, to the high-altitude base camp itself, offering close-up views of towering peaks and glaciers.
A highlight of this trek is the sunrise view from Poon Hill, which is often included as a part of the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, where you can witness a spectacular panorama of the Annapurna range. The trek is well-suited for those seeking a moderate-to-strenuous adventure in the Himalayas, with an average trekking duration of 7-12 days.
